Why study in Germany?

  • Affordable education. Most public universities charge little or no tuition. You mainly pay a semester contribution and your living costs.
  • Engineering and technology. Strong links between universities, research institutes and industry, especially in engineering, automotive and natural sciences.
  • English-taught masters. A growing number of master's programmes are taught in English, with German-taught options as well.
  • Time to find work. Graduates can apply for a residence permit to look for a job related to their degree.

Undergraduate, postgraduate and pathway programmes

Foreign Migration guides students into Germany at every level of study, not only postgraduate degrees:

Undergraduate

Three to 3.5-year bachelor's degrees at little or no tuition cost, though a good number are taught in German and require a language certificate.

Postgraduate

Two-year master's degrees, with a growing number taught entirely in English, especially in engineering and technology fields.

Pathway & foundation

Studienkolleg (foundation year) programmes prepare students whose secondary education is not directly recognised for German university entry.
